At St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church, the work of Christ is shared by many groups who are involved in a wide range of activities that support our ministry to each other and to those in need outside of our church. In fact, the list of opportunities for involvement at St. Thomas now exceeds 80!  Below are a few of these...

EDUCATION MINISTRIES

  • Episcopal Youth Community--Kids For Christ (elementary age); Jr./Sr. High
  • Brotherhood of St. Andrew--Men's Bible study
  • Christian Education for Children, Youth and Adults


WORSHIP MINISTRIES

  • Altar Guild--Prepares the altar for each Service.
  • Acolytes
  • Lectors--Reads parts of the Lectionary at various Services.
  • Lay Eucharistic Ministers--Chalice bearers for consecrated wine.
  • Adult Choir--Meets Wednesday nights at 7:15pm and Sunday mornings at 9:30am.
  • Ushers

 
SERVICE MINISTRIES

  • Episcopal Church Women
  • Daughters of the King (DOK)--Dedicated to daily prayer & service
  • Helping Hands--Ministers to those needing help with meals etc. after an illness/loss.
  • Phone Greeters Guild
  • Lay Eucharistic Visitors--Shares Communion with homebound using consecrated elements from the 10:30am Service.
  • St. Nicholas Guild (Nursery)
  • Cana Guild--Serves in support of bridal parties before and during weddings.
  • Office Volunteers Guild


OUTREACH MINISTRIES

  • Nearly New Shop--An outreach ministry of the ECW; resale shop.
  • Samaritan Counseling Center (co-founding Church)
  • Habitat for Humanity--Supported by the Fall Festival and by individual parishioners.
  • Bay Area Turning Point--Supported by the Fall Festivan and by individual parishioners.
  • Interfaith Caring Ministries Food In-gathering--First Sunday of each month.
  • Holy Risers--Bakes bread to give as welcoming gifts to guests.
  • Greeters
  • New Members Welcoming Team
  • Vacation Bible School--Held each summer, usually in July.
  • Publicity
  • Fall Festival--Annual fund- and friend-raiser. Proceeds benefit area charities.
  • St. Thomas School--Pre-Kindergarten through fifth grade

 
STEWARDSHIP MINISTRIES

  • Gifts and Memorials
  • Columbarium
  • Property Committee

 
FELLOWSHIP MINISTRIES

  • OWLS--Older, Wiser, Loving Saints; open to whippersnappers age 55+.
  • Foyer's Groups--Meets monthly; informal dinners in parishioners' homes.
  • Progressive Dinner--Annual Christmas social event.
  • Annual Parish Retreat--Held each year at Camp Allen.
  • Parents of Babies and Preschoolers--Open to families with at least one child under the age of 5. Monthly informal multi-age dinners at parishioners' homes.
  • BLAST--Women's "Dutch treat" dinner group; meets monthly at area restaurants.
