| Welcome from Our Rector, Bill Hyde |

The role of Jesus' original disciples was dependent on their ability and willingness to let their faith empower their continuation of His ministry and message to a world that did not share their faith. Empowered by the sure and certain knowledge that the way of life and benefits He proclaimed came from a Divine source, they were to share that sure and certain knowledge with others.
Through our commitment to Christianity, we have volunteered for the same role.
It is now up to us - the current incarnation of His original disciples - to spread the Good News of Christ. Our baptismal Covenant is nothing less than our appropriation of the impact of the revelations of Divine presence. Through it we say we believe in the existence and presence of the Divine. We say we believe that presence offers us an eternal freedom that is unavailable from any other source.
And, we vow we will, with God's help, share that presence with the world about us. We are able to make what many would say is this unjustifiable commitment because we have accepted the revelations of the life and message of Jesus - accepted them just as if we were present in Bethlehem or on the mountain. We may not have literally seen or heard what they experienced, but we, literally, accept its effects. We are challenged to share what we continue to experience with a world which questions - and often rejects - the effects of our experience. In the bluntest of language, we are challenged to understand and appreciate our roles as evangelists. This is exactly the challenge of the Incarnation and Transfiguration.
We here at St. Thomas want to share that challenge with you. If you are seeking a new or renewed church family, our arms and hearts are open. What we do and experience here has transformed our lives and we sincerely believe it can have the same impact on your life. The first step in becoming part of this faith community is your presence. Join us as we worship and praise God, play and work together, and learn more about each other and the world around us. We firmly believe you will find it time well spent.
